Keystone Ecology carried out an ecological feasibility study of 3 proposed water pipeline routes near Takeley, Essex. Each route was 6.5km in length.
The aims and objectives of the feasibility study were:
- identify features of ecological interest and undertake a basic search of habitats and assess any evidence of use, or potential use, by scheduled species e.g. designated sites, BAP Priority Habitats or protected species
- assist in the selection of a route which would minimise ecological impacts which would otherwise occur
- identify the ecological constraints associated with the route selected following the scoping surveys.
