Rail Contractor Briefing for Reptiles

VolkerRail

During routine inspections of cables lying within concrete troughing to the side of a section of active railway track in Bognor small numbers of Slow Worms were discovered. Recognising that Slow Worms receive legal protection VolkerRail contractors ceased work and contacted Keystone Ecology for advice on how to proceed with ballast sampling whilst remaining legally compliant. Consequently, we produced a method statement for the intended works and subsequently presented this to VolkerRail contractors at a site briefing.
