For this brownfield
residential development adjacent to
Portsmouth Harbour SPA Keystone were
commissioned to produce the ecology
chapter of the ES and design a comprehensive
mitigation strategy acceptable to
English Nature, The Environment Agency
and the local planning authority.
Our contracting department then implemented
the mitigation strategy working in
conjunction
with the consultancy team.
The following
tasks were undertaken:

An extended Phase
I Habitat Survey
- Extensive
high tide and low tide wintering
bird surveys
- Research
and analysis of BTO bird data available
for the SPA
- Phase
2 bat, reptile, newt and Badger
surveys
- Production
of an ecology chapter for the ES
including a full EcIA
- Enhancement
of habitat to form a reptile receptor
site
- Translocation
of reptiles
- Badger
disturbance licence application
and implementation
- Production
of construction phasing plan
- Contractor
briefings and toll box talks
