Artificial Roost Sites

As mitigation for loss of roost sites or for purely conservation driven projects Keystone can construct or install the following for all UK bat species:

• summer roost sites including those with CCTV monitoring capabilities
• hibernation roosts
• standard and heated bat boxes

Where roost sites are to be integrated into existing or proposed structures with additional use for other purposes we are able to supply licensed bat workers with engineering knowledge to oversee contractors and ensure the design is completed correctly.

Modification of Existing Roost Sites

Where modifications to existing roost sites are proposed to improve conditions, prevent degradation, increase capacity etc. we have the expertise to carry out the work in the most effective way. Most importantly we understand bat ecology and the need to time the work so as to avoid disturbance. The fact that we employ licensed bat workers means that in the event bats are discovered during work we are able to address the situation immediately and without delay.

Site Supervision

For all demolition and conversion projects we are able to supply licensed bat workers to supervise the removal of features that have been identified as suitable for use by bats. In this way we ensure that our clients' maintain their legal obligations under the European Protected Species licenses that generally permit this type of work.
