Our knowledge
of protected species and the constraints
associated with them enables us to look
at a scheme and plan a methodology for
the clearance of habitat at the most appropriate
time of year to avoid or minimise impacts.
Types of clearance undertaken are:
- Clearance of vegetation to deter nesting
birds using equipment ranging from hand
held tools to large tractor/digger mounted
flail heads
- Light destructive searching of sites
by hand, usually after newt and reptile
translocations
- Heavy destructive searching of sites
using excavators, usually after the
light detructive search
- Turf stripping of sites
- Hedgerow removal
- Gorse and bracken removal
